This program is an ideal option for students who: Have unique academic interests not available through their high school. Are looking for courses beyond their high school curriculum. Need to enroll in a college course to fulfill a high school requirement. Are exploring alternative options to AP courses. Want to advance their knowledge in a particular academic area such as writing or foreign language. Would like a commuter option to our residential summer pre-college programs. Not from the St. Louis area? We offer a select number of online courses through Early College Scholars as well. Eligibility To be eligible for Early College Scholars students should: Be a current high school student. Have an academic average of B (3.0/4.0) or better. Meet any prerequisites for the course they wish to enroll. As an international student, have a TOEFL score of at least 90 For students younger than high school, please contact our office to discuss application requirements which include a letter of recommendation from a teacher and interview with administrative personnel. Academic Support Students enrolled in courses through Early College Scholars are advised through our pre-college office and have access to all university campus resources including the Writing Center, the Learning Center, and libraries. During the summer, Early College Scholars are welcome to attend any of our scheduled college readiness activities. 2020 Courses Students may choose from a variety of courses in humanities, math, sciences, and social sciences. Students may enroll in two undergraduate courses (maximum of 7 units) per semester. Not all courses offered by University College and the Summer School are available for high school students to enroll. Please note that these course listings are subject to change or cancellation without notice. All course selections must be approved by our office, and students must meet all prerequisites for a course to enroll. Some enrollments are subject to instructor or department approval. Learn more about 2020 course offerings Tuition Tuition ranges from $665-$995 per credit hour. Select science courses may cost more per credit hour and also require a lab fee (see course listings above). Payment is due in full at time of registration. Please note: we do not offer scholarship assistance for Early College Scholars. Current Student Resources For current students who wish to make changes to their course selection or grade option, please complete a Course Change Request and submit to our office by the deadline. Please note that course changes are subject to approval by our office. For students who have previously enrolled in courses through Early College Scholars, we do not require a new application. Students can enroll in courses by completing the Course Change Request and submit along with payment to our office by the deadline.
